Smack a wide in their face

NEK performing while I smacked a wide lens in face :)

You know what they say: wide lenses are not por portrait shots. For the most time I would definetely agree.

But how about portrait shots in action ? For these situations I L-O-V-E my Tokina 11-60. Absolutely love it. Why ? Because the results draws you into the action, as if you where actually there, in the crowd. You put the viewer on the front V.I.P. row and even closer. Plus it makes your subjects look larger than life.

Of cource in order for this kind of shots to work you have to be close. Really really close. You have to smack that wide lens in your subjects face.

Soon I will make a post about why and how I use my wide lens for shooting events and action.

Until then enjoy this shot of NEK performing his track "Jamaica" during the street event Love's Riot #2.
